2008 Challenge - The Classes
There are 12 classes for which beers may be entered:
- Class 1 - Ales up to 4.2% abv
- Class 2 - Ales between 4.3% and 5.5% abv
- Class 3 - Ales between 5.6% and 6.9% abv
- Class 4 - Lager up to 4.2% abv
- Class 5 - Lager between 4.3% and 5.5% abv
- Class 6 - Lager between 5.6% and 6.9% abv
- Class 7 - Beer above 7.0% abv
- Class 8 - Fruit beers
- Class 9 - Wheat beers - all beers entered in this class much include a minimum of 30% wheat (malted or unmalted) in the cereal grist.
- Class 10 - Stouts and porters up to 6.9% abv
- Class 11 - Dark/Black lagers up to 6.9% e.g; Amber Lagers, Viennas, Dunkels, Rauchbiers
- Class 12 - Non-alcoholic and low alcoholic beers
The International Section
There will be an additional award for the top-scoring entry submitted from outside the UK. All of these entries will automatically be entered into this section in addition to the class(es) for which they have been entered. There is no extra charge to enter this section.
